Behind the events which shape our modern world, turn the cogs of technological progression and proliferation. The industrial revolution which began in the 1800’s continues; constantly changing the world we inhabit, the way we communicate, the way we live and the ways we die.

NZ Model Security Council

The Security Council, as the most powerful organ of the UN, is an action-oriented forum with the focus being on finding solutions rather than open political discussion. NZMSC 2012 will be a challenging, thought provoking conference to fire up your imagination, emotions and inspiration.

NZMSC is the only national Model United Nations Conference for tertiary level students available in New Zealand. Teams of five represent a United Nations Security Council state, firstly in separate committe rooms in groups of 15, and then all together in the plenary session with 75 delegates pushing for peace and prosperity.

Alongside the conference there will be a number of social events showcasing Auckland City’s fantastic night-life. Committee dinners, evening drinks and the renowned NZMSC Ball will give you the opportunity to get to know other delegates outside the conference room.

Theme

This year's theme is "Domains of Warfare". Throughout the modern era, the events that have defined the progress of the human race have not been the wars, the economic crashes, or political upheaval. Ultimately, technology has facilitated our growth and development, but has had its fair share of emergencies and crises. Technology has been an enabler in all areas of human development, from human rights to economic growth, and importantly, in conflict. Albert Einstein said "Our technology has exceeded our humanity," and the organising committee challenges delegates to NZMSC to prove him wrong and find peace instead.

So, dust off your corporate costume and...

BE THERE, because you know it will be there best thing you ever do!

He wants YOU to be there. Yes YOU!
