Youth Declaration

What is Youth Declaration?

Youth Declaration is a four day national conference for secondary school students. It gives young leaders the opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to public policy making in New Zealand. Through mutual dialogue, participants will be driven to examine their own beliefs while developing a respect for differing points of view.

Within the conference program there will be expert speakers, educational workshops, an outreach program, and focus groups led by trained facilitators.

Our aims

Our goals are to provide a unique extracurricular experience. Students will develop key competencies of thinking, relating to others and participating, in an intense and interactive way. They will learn about a range of issues in New Zealand and gain hands-on experience within the community. The Final Declaration serves to show that today's youth are engaged and insightful individuals, capable of articulating solutions for a better future.

Youth Declaration 2012 will be held in Auckland at the Univeristy of Auckland. The full event will run from Friday 13th April until Monday 16th April.
