EVENT DETAILS:
As part of Auckland Model United Nations 2025, the Outreach Roadshow is a series of engaging and informative events designed to introduce students to UN Youth and Model United Nations. These events will be held in several locations, Manukau, Glen Eden, and Hamilton, and are specifically aimed at students who are new to the concepts and workings of Model UN.
Throughout the workshops, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the structure and function of the United Nations, learning how international diplomacy and cooperation take place on a global scale. The workshops will feature interactive simulation activities, allowing delegates to experience firsthand the complexities of global decision-making. Students will develop valuable skills such as negotiation, public speaking, and problem-solving, as they collaborate with their peers from different backgrounds and perspectives to address global issues. By the end of the event, delegates will have a stronger appreciation for diplomacy and the importance of working together towards a common goal.
The Outreach Roadshow provides a supportive and dynamic environment where students can build confidence, learn essential skills for future leadership, and form connections with others who are passionate about global affairs.
The workshops are held in:
Manukau Library (3 Osterley Way) - 7th February 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Glen Eden Library (12/32 Glendale Road) - 11th February 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Hamilton Central Library (9 Garden Place) - 16th February 11:30am - 2:00pm

WHAT IS UN YOUTH?
UN Youth is a non-profit organisation focused on providing civics education beyond traditional classrooms. We involve youth in critical national and international affairs through immersive workshops and conferences. We aim to inspire young New Zealanders to be active, global citizens. Global citizenship takes diverse forms, and UN Youth offers opportunities for delegates to develop their own active citizenship style.
Our work equips young people throughout Aotearoa to become informed, engaged, and critical New Zealanders, understanding their global context and the links between local and global scales. Annually, over 3000 young New Zealanders attend UN Youth events, run by more than 150 volunteers across the country - dedicating many hours to engaging youth and growing the organisation.
