UN Youth Canterbury is holding a Model Security Council on Saturday 13th August! Take on a role as a country on the UN Security Council and discuss pressing issues facing the world. No experience is required as we offer a fun introduction to the UN Youth experience. All we ask is that you are a current student at any of the tertiary institutions in Canterbury (not exclusive to UC).

This is an opportunity for tertiary students to try out our events or revisit their high school delegate days. We will be speaking about the issues of sustainable resource use and disarmament, but don't feel any pressure to do any prior readings. An education brief will be sent out in due time once you register, containing helpful links to help you prepare for this event. This means that it is important that you register through the link above so that you can get all the up-to-date information that we will be sending out.

Whether you come along with a bunch of friends or by yourself, it's going to be guaranteed a good time. We are a super friendly bunch of Uni students that are passionate about global politics and love having chats about everything and anything in between. The event runs from 1pm to 5pm, but if you would like to keep the discussion going, there is also the option for a BYO afterwards 🥂. No food will be provided at this event, so it's highly recommended that you also pack some snacks for afternoon tea.

Events updates will be posted on Facebook here, so make sure you click "Interested" or "Going" to get the latest updates. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email the Canterbury Regional President, Rana Cawley, at [email protected]
