About The Event
UN Youth Otago is partnering with Wao this year to bring you the 2023 Central Otago Model United Nations! Come along to spend the day representing a country and engaging in important discussions and debates about the world.
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues facing our generation, and the United Nations is one of the many platforms that aims to facilitate solutions and catalyse change. We will be exploring and discussing global environmental issues that we face, whilst becoming aware of how individual states choose to respond to the pressing issues at hand. The day will be full of workshops, committee sessions and conference wide debate.
Delegate registrations are open to all high school students, with no prior experience needed. As a delegate, you will be assigned a member state of the United Nations and will be tasked with researching and debating their perspective on various topics relating to sustainability and environmental issues.
