Delegates at all skill levels are welcomed to join in on this immersive learning experience. Guaranteed to provide education, excitement, and fun, this event is not to be missed.
Note: this opportunity is recruiting for Head Volunteer positions. Regular volunteer registrations will come out later.
Role Descriptions:
HEAD OF WELFARE
The Head of Welfare is in charge of leading the Welfare Team at NZMUN. Welfare Officers hold the essential responsibility of supporting the welfare of both delegates and volunteers at NZ Model UN. In the lead-up to the event, the Head of Welfare will work with the NZMUN committee with the aim to achieve the best possible welfare outcomes as well as train the Welfare team. For these reasons, the Head of Welfare is critical to taking care of NZMUN attendees. If you are passionate about the wellbeing of others and you are confident in your leadership style, sign yourself up! To be considered for the Head of Welfare, you must have a First Aid Certificate.
HEAD MPI LIAISON
The Head Maori and Pacific Islands Liaison will be in charge of organising and running the MPI program for NZMUN, assisted by a team of MPI liaisons. This program is integrated into the conference for the purposes of mentorship, education, and guidance. Recognising that NZMUN is structurally and substantively a Western environment, the MPI program exists to connect MPI attendees with each other in a low-pressure and casual setting. The program itself may vary depending on the vision of the Head MPI Liaison, but primarily consists of mentorship, running MPI lunches, and being available to MPI delegates and volunteers throughout the duration of the conference. The role of the Head MPI Liaison is to prepare the MPI Liaison team and coordinate with the NZMUN committee to bring their vision of the MPI program to life!
HEAD OF PRESS
The Press Program is a unique piece of NZMUN. Press delegates observe the day's events and compile them in a daily newspaper that is electronically distributed to attendees. The Head of Press directs this program, which typically entails workshops, speakers, and mentorship from Press Delegate Facilitators. The responsibilities of the Head of Press are to put their Press Program into action and work with the committee to integrate it into NZMUN.
