ABOUT THE EVENT
Calling any delegate that wants to push themselves a little further! Wellington is hosting another Competitive Model United Nations (CompMUN) for 2026 and we’re excited to have you!
This year’s theme is UN+Influenced, inspired by the way in which the world affects those around us, a domino effect coming from each of our actions. No nation is independent of another, a vital aspect to consider in diplomacy. Specifically, we’re concerned with larger national powers imposing their power on smaller nations. While international relations should be collaborative and involve other countries, it should not come at the cost or sacrifice of a member state’s own independence, freedom, and culture. Especially when it impacts the people living in those countries. Delegates will get the chance to debate and look at these relevant issues in the event to provide their own perspective on how to resolve them.
This event is great for delegates experienced in UN Youth events and who want to challenge themselves further with more stimulating debate and content, but we’re still open to first timers! Delegates have the chance to win awards like best speaker and best amendment. Feedback will also be provided during the conference if delegates want it. It’ll be a fun event regardless and a great opportunity to polish up on your skills.

ABOUT UN YOUTH
UN Youth is a non-profit organisation that provides civics education outside the traditional classroom context. Through fun workshops and conferences, we engage youth in the most pressing affairs of their country and the international community. Our goal is to inspire young New Zealanders to be active, global citizens. Global citizenship exists in an incredibly diverse range of forms, and UN Youth provides opportunities for delegates to develop their own form of active citizenship. Throughout Aotearoa, our work equips young people to become informed, engaged, and critical New Zealanders who understand their global context and the connections between the local and the global. Annually, over 3000 young New Zealanders from Northland to Southland attend a UN Youth event, run by a body of over 150 volunteers across the country who dedicate many hours of their time to engaging young people and growing the organisation.
