About the Event
Kia ora all tertiary students,
The Auckland Tertiary Impact Challenge (formerly known as SDG solveathon) is back for 2021!
This year, our ever-popular case competition will feature new, thought-provoking challenges crafted to build your problem-solving skills and develop your ability to tackle pressing, real-life issues relating to the UN social development goals.
By participating in our flagship tertiary event, you will get the chance to work alongside Aurecon, The Human Rights commission or Fairtrade to present a solution to a challenge posed by one of these organisations. The challenges will be situated in one of our three case categories; Social Justice and Policy, STEM and Commerce.
We also have some amazing prizes up for grabs for our top 3 teams that will be announced at a later date!
Registrations are free and you can choose to register as a group (maximum of 4) or individual in which case we will happily place you into a group with others interested in the same case category as you! Each Member of your team must submit a registration form!
Registrations close 5th of March so be sure to get in before then! Cases are released to participants on Thursday the 11th of March.
The competition will be held on the 13th of March from 9am to 7:30pm at the University of Auckland, so please ensure you and your group are available on this date. The event day will consist of a first round of 10 minute presentations, followed by a final round in the evening for those who make it through! You will be given plenty of time and resources on the day to prepare your cases and present to our panel of Judges.
Along with the amazing organisations we are working with we are also pleased to announce our guest judges, Michelle Dickinson (Nanogirl Labs), Andreas Dickinson and Jamie Gillen (UOA)!
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact our communications manager Hafsa Sajjad at hafsa.sajjad@unyouth.org.nz
