About the Event
For 2021, our theme is UN+Certain. This theme intends to help students understand the rules that govern international organisations and relations. Ever since the end of the Second World War, the international arena has been dominated by what has been dubbed the International Rules Based Order (IRBO). This refers to an international environment where states cannot do whatever they want. Instead, human rights are to be respected, diplomacy is to be conducted multilaterally to avoid great power domination, free trade is good and the UN is an important authority and arbiter.
Committees:
- The Question of the Sovereignty of States
- The Question of a Right to Immigrate
- The Question of International Trade
- The Question of a World State (plenary)
