About the Event

Tātai Kōrero is UNYouth New Zealand's brand new indigenous storytelling event aimed at inspiring Māori and Pasifika stories through conversation, song, dance and art. Hosted at the University of Auckland's Waipapa Marae and Fale Pasifika, Tātai Kōrero connects the journeys of Māori and Pasifika from as far back as the Great Migration of the Pacific, to issues currently facing our rangatahi today. Tātai Kōrero is an opportunity for young people to hear others stories, to share their stories with the world. Hear from rangatahi in the indigenous advocacy space and indulge yourself at the fiafia night on day two. The space is yours.

There are two tickets available for this event:

Noho:

Marae Accomodation, Kai and Event Access

General:

Event Access and Kai.

We also have a travel scholarship for those currently outside Auckland. The Haerenga Scholarship is a fully paid for flight and transport accomodation from selected cities (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin). One week after registrations close, applicants will be interviewed. Successful applicants will have purchased a Noho or General ticket.

Tātai Kōrero is strictly a 16-25 year old event. Consideration will be given to those who are in years Year 11 to 25 years of age. No alcohol will be served to attendants during the conference.
